At 16, I began working with analogue photography, exploring how silence could be documented through images. Working independently, I travelled through Belgium, observing its familiar landscapes and architectural clichés. Despite its title, West-Belgique, the project extended beyond the fictitious borders of the nation.

The project began in 2020 and developed over eighteen months. From January to March 2022, it was exhibited at RW Gallery in Antwerp. The accompanying publication was self-published in an edition of 50 copies.

West-Belgique was my first autonomous art project and influenced my decision to pursue further studies at KASK.
